"No Place Like London"

Currently Music: I've Just Seen A Face - The Beatles

Yup, I'm in the mood to move to London...again. I really think it would just be the best for me to go somewhere new. I've done the United States, and I just want to go be in a new place, and meet new people. London just seems so magical to me. I think I want to visit it sometime this upcoming year, to see if it really is the place for me.

Here are a few photos of the gorgeous city of London, you'll see why I want to move there.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Being the history buff that I am, here are some facts about the holiday:

-The first Thanksgiving took place in the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts in 1621.

-The first Thanksgiving did not take place on the last Thursday of November. In reality it took place sometime between September 21 and November 11, and it lasted for 3 days.

-The pilgrims wouldn't even consider what we do every Thanksgiving an actual Thanksgiving. To them, a day of thanksgiving, was a religious holiday where one would go to church and thank God for an event, such as a battle that was won. What they did on "Thanksgiving" would have not been allowed during a religious day. They considered it a non-religious event, and would not have called it Thanksgiving.

-Thanksgiving was not originally celebrated every year. It wasn't celebrated again until 1623 when the pilgrims were fasting because of a drought, it began to rain, and they celebrated. This caught on with the rest of New England and it began to be celebrated all over.

-Thanksgiving became a national holiday in 1941

True Blood Withdrawals

True Blood hasn't been on the air in a couple of months, and I am beginning to have withdrawals. It is one of my favorite shows, and I can not wait for the new season to start. The third season of the show starts filming December 3rd, with the new season airing in June 2010.

I love True Blood because it is just so great. The story lines are out there, and so are the characters. It makes a really interesting story. The fact that it is on HBO also helps, because HBO always puts high quality productions out there (Seriously, check out John Adams if you don't believe me). I've read the True Blood books, and they are just as great. I recommend reading them also, even though they do somewhat differ from the show. But, I've never been bothered by that.

My favorite characters on the show are Sookie, Bill, Eric, and Sam. I like most of the characters, but those 4 I enjoy the most. I like Sookie because she is the main character, and I wish I was her. But I also like how she doesn't take crap from anyone. She'll stand up to any person, or vampire. Then there's Bill, the main vampire on the show and Sookie's love interest. I just love how he was turned during the Civil War, and sometimes seems to hate being a vampire. He's one of the main people that actually drinks the True Blood drink. Next is Eric, the sexiest vampire. He is the sheriff of the district the Sookie and Bill live in, and is the owner of Fangtasia, a bar frequented by vampires and fang bangers. He is the ultimate badboy, which makes him awesome. Finally, there's Sam. The shapeshifter that has been in love with Sookie for years. I just love how he looks and when he talks with his southern accent. Makes me heart skip a beat. And damn, does he look good in a pair of jeans.

Here are just some pics of the cast to help you get through till next season too.

Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse

Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton

Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte

Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman

Ryan Kwanten as Jason Stackhouse

Nelsan Ellis as Lafayette Reynolds
Rutina Wesley as Tara Thornton

"Untouchable like a distant diamond sky..."

Lately, I have been really loving Taylor Swift. The latest song I am in love with is "Untouchable," which I heard when she hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend. It is from Fearless (Platinum Edition). Enjoy.

Hottie Of The Month: November

It's that time of the month again! It's when I name my hottie of the month! Now, I had some trouble this month, there were several guys that caught my attention, and I didn't know who to choose. Also, I don't like to choose guys that are overexposed (sorry Robert Pattinson, as hot as you are in the new Vanity Fair, and in life in general, I just couldn't pick you). So I decided to go down another Vampire route.

I chose both Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries on The CW. The story is about two vampire brothers, one good, one bad. The good brother, Stefan Salvatore, played by Wesley, travels back to his hometown of Mystic Falls, VA to be near Elena Gilbert, who looks exactly like Katherine, a woman Stefan loved 145 years ago. His brother Damon Salvatore, played by Somerhalder, follows him home and begins to reek havoc on the town.

Paul Wesley plays the more vulnerable, tortured vampire Stefan. Stefan does not feed on humans, and tries to live as a vampire unnoticed. He is just trying to live a "normal" life while trying to protect his love, Elena. This becomes difficult when his brother Damon comes into town.

Damon, on the other hand, is the rebel. Damon doesn't care about anything, and he feeds on the humans of Mystic Falls, which causes trouble in the town when bodies start piling. He resents Stefan because the woman they both loved 145 years ago, chose Stefan and not Damon. There are still many secrets about their relationship, but this seems to be the main barrier. Even though Damon is bloodthirsty, at times he has shown compassion, very few times that is. They are usually targeted toward Elena, probably because of her resemblance to his love Katherine.

Both men are extremely hot, which makes them my hotties for the month of November. Check out The Vampire Diaries tonight at 8pm on The CW.

The Beginnings of Indiana Jones

My day has officially been made!

It is known to you all that I am obsessed with Indiana Jones. Ever since I was a kid I have always loved the Indiana Jones movies. It even inspired me for most of my life to be an archaeologist. When they wasn't feasible, I decided teaching history was good enough. I'm even considering naming a child of mine, if I ever have any, Indiana. That's how deep this obssesion goes.

I stumbled across a blog that had a post about the Raiders of the Lost Ark story conference between producer George Lucas, director Steven Spielberg, and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. It was the 5 day meeting that shaped the character of Indiana Jones. They talk about all aspects of his character, including the type of person he is, and his story line. I thought it was fun to see things they mention that don't make it into the final movie. Such as his last name being Smith, thankfully right afterwards they thought Jones would be better.

It is available to download, and of course I downloaded it. I started reading the 126 page transcript and I'm not done yet, but this is officially one of the best things I have ever come across on the internet. It's just great to see how the great minds of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg worked to get one of my favorite's onto the big screen.

This is just amazing and I can't wait to read it all!
