Halloween Costume
Ok guys, it's that time of the year where you can be anything you want to be. From being a princess, to a swashbuckling pirates, or even a slutty nun. You can be anything because it's HALLOWEEN. Halloween isn't particularly one of my favorite holidays, but any excuse to have a good time and dress up as something different, I'm in. This year I decided to go as a slutty school girl. Why you ask? Well, i've never been anything "slutty" for halloween, and I thought it would be awesome to be able to take advantage of that "you can be slutty on this one night without anyone saying anything" rule. So, what is everyone going to be for halloween??

Tombstone = Awesome Movie
Ok guys, so I have been in a western mood lately. I have never really cared much for that time in history or the movie genre, but lately I can't get enough of it. The latest movie in my western education is Tombstone.
The movie stars Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp and Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday. It came out just 6 months before Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner as the main man and Dennis Quaid as Doc Holliday. I've seen both movies, Wyatt Earp more times, and I have come to the consensus that Tombstone is the better movie.
I will say I really did enjoy both movies. I believe that Wyatt Earp is more historically accurate, but Tombstone was just overall more entertaining. Wyatt Earp runs around 3 hours and 18 minutes, which just makes it too long. There isn't enough action, most of the movie is about Wyatt Earp's life. On the other hand, Tombstone is an hour less at 2 hours and 13 minutes, and it contains tons more action. It deals more with Wyatt's life, but most importantly on the Gunfight at the OK Corral, and the Earp Vendetta Ride.
Not only the movie itself better, but the actors were better in Tombstone. I did enjoy Kevin Costner's portrayal of Wyatt Earp, but I thought Kurt Russell just made him seem more real. Kevin Costner made him more of a goody-goody and somewhat sad. I thought Kurt Russell made him awesome while still keeping the whole goody-goody and sadness there.
Finally, I cannot end my post without mentioning my favorite character in both movies, Doc Holliday. I prefer Val Kilmer's Doc over Dennis Quaid's, but both are still great. I probably think both are great because I just love Doc Holliday. I think he is the ultimate badass. The man has tuberculosis, but is still one of the fastest men with a gun. He can be coughing up blood but he will never turn down a fight for a good cause. He never leaves Wyatt's side when he needs him, he is his friend through and through. He also has the hottest southern accent around. I fell in love with Doc Holliday in Tombstone, and the whole illness didn't even bother me, it made him even hotter.
Overall, I would recommend both movies, but if you just want to see one, I'd say go for Tombstone. It has a great story line, great action, and great actors. Check them out next time you are in the video store or picking movies on Netflix!

What Ever Happened To The Western?
A couple days ago I finally got around to watching the movie Unforgiven. I watched it because it had won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1993, and being the movie buff that I am, I really thought for my movie education I should watch it.
The movie is about a retired gunslinger William Munny, played by director and star Clint Eastwood, who is asked to take on one last job by a young man named The Schofield Kid. He brings along his old partner Ned Logan, played by Morgan Freeman. The only thing standing in their way is Sheriff Little Bill Daggett, played by Gene Hackman.
After watching this movie I started thinking, and I thought, why don't we have anymore good western movies? The last one to come out was 3:10 to Yuma with my boy Russell Crowe, and I thought the movie was great, but it went by hardly noticed. There have been so many good ones like The Quick and the Dead, Dances with Wolves, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and the countless old westerns like Cimarron, and True Grit. Westerns used to rule movie theaters. It's how Clint Eastwood got his start, and it made stars out of people such as John Wayne, and Gary Cooper. But now the genre is hardly in existence.
I really think the genre should make a comeback. We should celebrate how America used to be. The genre is all about redemption and trying to make a living for yourself in a time when America was changing. I think it is an interesting time in American history that should be shown. I feel like there are still so many great stories to tell of the Wild West. This is my personal plea to Hollywood to make more great American western movies!

O.P.I.: New Fall/Winter Collection
O.P.I. has come out with its new Fall/Winter 2009 collection, and I am loving it. The theme this season is Spain, which I love because my family is originally from there.
The colors are gorgeous and are all about passion, and drama. They are all stunning but there are three colors I like the most.
Manicurist of Seville: A sangria shade of red that will make you want a glass of sangria.
Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees: A blue-grey that is named after the mountain range in Spain.
Give Me Moor!: Named after the people of North Africa that lived in southern Spain, it is a gorgeous wine-purple.

And Now Presenting...
David has been playing the violin since he was 4 years old, making him a child prodigy. After years of playing, David eventually went to Juilliard. Since then, David has gone on to record several albums that have become very successful in Europe. His first American CD "David Garrett" was released this summer.
I recently went to David's concert and it was amazing. David likes to play contemporary music which makes his concerts so much more fun. Some examples of the songs he plays are the theme to Pirates of the Caribbean, "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson, and "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. But he does stays true to the violins classical roots by playing songs such as "Air" by Johann Sebastian Bach and "Summer" by Antonio Vivaldi.
The concert was amazing, and so was David. He played beautifully and I loved every minute of it! I now leave you with some of his songs. Maybe you will also fall in love with David Garrett? Enjoy!

Hottie Of The Month: First Edition
I decided to make a monthly post dedicated to those who I love the most: men. Every month I will bring you a new hottie who has captured my heart for the month. For October the hottie of the month is:
Matthew Morrison is currently stars on the show Glee playing the lovable teacher Will Schuester, the director of the glee club who hopes to restore the glee club to its original glory. I just love how Matthew plays Mr. Schuester, he is just so kind, and understanding. He just wants to help the kids, even though at times he may fall of course. But in the end, he has the best intentions.
Matthew Morrison is also the hottie of the month because of his background. Matthew originated the character of Link Larkin from Hairspray on broadway. So, not only is he great to look at, he can sing and dance too. He uses these skills on the show Glee where he occasionally sings and dances with the students.
(Matthew rapping lead in Gold Digger)
(Matthew singing with guest star Kristin Chenoweth)
For these reasons, I have made Matthew Morrison hottie of the month, check him out tonight on Glee at 9pm/8c on Fox!

Welcome Back Russell Crowe!

I used to be absolutely obsessed with Russell Crowe. He was my number 1. I first began to like him after seeing him in one of my all-time favorite movies, Gladiator. With Gladiator came a lot of fame and even an Academy Award. No one could play Maximus Decimus Meridius like Russell could play him. I mean, when Maximus yells "Are you not entertained!", I think we all yelled back "Yes we are!!" At least I did...
After Gladiator came A Beautiful Mind. Another exceptional movie that helped him receive his 3rd Academy Award nomination. Unfortunately, he lost unfairly to Denzel Washington for his role in Training Day (yes, I am still a bit bitter about that). At this time, Russell was at the top of his game. But, after a phone incident, that I do not wish to discuss, Russell's star seemed to fade.
But finally, after several movies that don't quite measure up to the old Russell Crowe movies (trust me, I've seen most), I think he may back! Russell is set to star in a new remake of Robin Hood with his Gladiator director, Ridley Scott. You may have already heard of this movie coming out, but I would just like to say how excited I am about it! I think this is just up Russell and Ridley's alley. A big budget drama. The movie seems to have so much promise, and I ecsatic for it to come out May 14, 2010. Hopefully, this will help Russell get back to the top, and get him another Academy Award nomination. All I know is that I've missed Russell Crowe and I'm glad he's back.

Thank You ABC
I love the ABC network. Not only are the majority of the shows I like to watch on their network, they seem to give old actors a chance for a comeback. First they started with Matthew Fox on Lost. Now, I don't watch Lost, but I do appreciate the hotness that is Matthew Fox and I am happy to see him on TV and having a successful career after Party of Five.
After Matthew Fox came, Patrick Dempsey on Grey's Anatomy. This one I am particularly glad about because, I just love me some McDreamy. I watch Grey's Anatomy every week, and every week I fall in love with Patrick Dempsey all over again. The name McDreamy is absolutely perfect for him. Those eyes, that hair! I think he just has the kindest looking eyes. Love him. I am so happy ABC put him on a show where I can watch him on a weekly basis.
There have been some others after Patrick Dempsey, but the latest reemergence of actors from the past comes in the form of Joseph Fiennes on the new show FlashForward. I first began to love Joseph Fiennes after I saw him in the movie Shakespeare in Love. After the success of Shakespeare in Love, Joseph decided to shun the Hollywood lifestyle and retreat back to his roots of theater so that he may grow as an actor and as a person. But thankfully, he did all the growing he needed. He's back with a new show, and it's wonderful. FlashForward is about how every one in the world loses consciousness for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, while unconscious every one sees into their futures, a flash forward. Joseph plays the main character named Mark Benford, an FBI agent. The show is exciting, suspenseful, has great acting, and great writing. I can't wait to see more episodes and to see Joseph Fiennes on TV every week.
FlashForward is on ABC tonight at 8pm. Check it out!
